ABOUT US
In August 1980 the 'Central Coast Irish Association' was founded by XXXXX. The Central Coast GAA Club then became its' affiliated club in XXX.
The Hurling team, the first of the clubs teams, was created in 1983 thanks to the efforts of Peter Murphy, Jack & Tom Mahony, John Walsh & Mossie Doody XXX WHERE FROMXXX. The first League title followed in 1985 with a rousing victory against Penrith Gaels. This winning tradition has continued throughout the years with multiple league and championship titles and numerous state honours.
In 1990 the Ladies football team was founded. Their first title came in 1993 when they captured the league but they had to wait until 1999 for their second league title. Since then they have gone from strength to strength and are now one of the most successful ladies teams in NSW.
XXCAMOGIE HISTORYXXX
Throughout the years many Coast players have represented NSW at state level with numerous national hurling, camogie and football titles gathered. The club has also had the privilege of having had several players represent Australasia at international level in the GAA World Games.
XXX ADD THIS TO OTHER SECTION...MAYBE TRAININGXXXThe Central Coast is approximately one & a half hour's drive north from Sydney and one of the most popular holiday destinations in NSW. While the clubs roots lie in this area its' members and players are based and play in Sydney, particularly the Eastern Suburbs of Bondi, Randwick and Coogee. In fact the club trains in Centennial Park during the Summer months.
